Meet the Family

We’re not your average travel crew, we’re a blended bunch brought together by love, camping trips, and a shared sense of adventure. Matt came with two daughters, Jess with two sons, and together we have Banjo, our six-year-old food critic, swing set tester, and all-round mischief maker.

​

When we hit the road, it’s usually in our trusty Jayco Swift camper trailer… though 'cosy' might be an understatement. With four teens in tow, you’ll often find them pitched nearby in a tent (or occasionally migrating to the car when the wildlife gets too real, it is Australia after all). Every now and then, Jess’ younger brother, Uncle Ned joins the adventure, adding an extra dose of chaos, snacks, and laughs.

Why We Travel

For us, travel isn’t about ticking boxes or rushing from one landmark to the next, it’s about slowing down, spending time together, and finding joy in the little things. Whether it’s spotting kangaroos at sunrise, playing cards around the camp table, or sharing hot chips at a country pub, these moments are what make it all worth it. 

We travel to reconnect, with each other, with nature, and with the places that make Australia feel like home. Our adventures don’t need to be fancy or far, just full of good company, good food, and room for a bit of fun (and the occasional wrong turn).

It’s messy, meaningful, and full of stories we never expected. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Banjo’s Role

Banjo’s absolute favourite thing to do? Go to the pub. Any pub will do — though he definitely has his favourites. He lives for the social buzz, the kids’ menus, and the thrill of rating every schnitty, chips combo, and juice box on offer.

He takes his reviewing duties seriously and awards bonus points for any venue with a decent playground, colouring-in, or a big chalkboard wall. If it has all three? That’s a Banjo-approved must-visit.

In our blog, you’ll find Banjo’s honest reviews of kids’ meals, pub facilities, and play areas — all from a six-year-old’s point of view. His tastes are simple, his standards are high, and he always tells it like it is.
